Virtual Safe Requirement

Currently, the WashConnect instructions are written for cash management assuming you are using a physical on-site safe and the Virtual Safe is enabled in the Software. The virtual safe is an electronic representation of the cash in your on-site safe.

It is highly recommended by ICS to use an on-site safe and enable the virtual safe to accurately track your cash on hand while preventing mistakes and theft.

However, it's your choice as you can use the WashConnect management system without using a safe. You also can use the safe for some devices but not all devices at your site.

There are differences in how you enter your cash movements if you use a safe or do not use a safe.

When a device such as a POS doesn't use a safe, there is a different screen when opening and closing, there are not removes from the device, only deposits, and the requirements for verifying journals will be different.

Using the safe will allow sites to do one deposit for all cash at the site and it will show up on the reports as one deposit.
