The Auto Sentry Verify operation allows the user to verify the money that is in an Auto Sentry Bill Dispenser or Coin Hopper component.  This operation can be used to audit the totals in the Auto Sentry or correct the money in an Auto Sentry component if the amount is incorrect.  For the Bill Dispenser the Verify operation will NOT dispense the bills out to verify the counts.  The Bill Dispenser will show the total amount that it believes it has and it is up to the user to physically count the total and verify if they match.  If the totals do not match the user can correct the totals when performing a Verify.  The Coin Hopper WILL PHYSICALLY DISPENSE the coins from the hopper while it is counting them so site personnel should ensure they have a means to collect the coins as they are being dispensed.

Verify (Bill Dispenser)

To Verify the contents of a Bill Dispenser, follow these steps:

1. Log on to the Auto Sentry Service Unit Screen.
2. On the Service Unit Screen, select a Bill Dispenser by tapping the Bill Dispenser icon for the denomination to be verified.
3. Tap the Verify button.

 

4. Tap the Start button.
   The instructional box displays the message:

If the amount is correct, press the STOP button again. Otherwise, press the EDIT button and use the keypad to the right to edit the amount followed by the STOP button.

    If the amount is correct:

            a) Tap the Stop button.

The instructional box displays the message: Ending Bank Unchanged.

 -or

If the amount is incorrect:

              a)  Press the Edit button

              b)  Enter the correct total number of bills counted, not the dollar amount.

              c)  Press the Stop button.

                   The message: "Ending bank has been adjusted by..." appears.

5. Take the Receipt for the Removal operation.
6. Perform another operation or exit out of the Service Unit Screen.

Verify (Coin Hopper)

To Verify the contents of a Coin Hopper, follow these steps:

1. Log on to the Auto Sentry Service Unit Screen.
2. On the Service Unit Screen, tap to select a Coin Hopper or Coin Token Hopper icon.

 

NOTE: Verifying a Coin Hopper will dispense and count all the coins in the hopper.  Site personnel should have a means to collect the coins as they are dispensed while verifying a Coin Hopper.

3. Tap the Verify button.
4. Tap the Start button.
5. Physically empty the coin hopper and count the coins.
6. When coin hopper is empty, tap the Stop button.

The Message "If the amount is correct, press the STOP button again.  Otherwise, press the EDIT button and use the keypad to the right to edit the amount followed by the STOP button." appears.

7. If possible, count the number of coins.

If the amount is correct:

• Tap the Stop button. 

The message "Ending Bank Unchanged" appears.

-or-

If the amount is incorrect:

a.)  Tap the Edit button.

b.)  Enter the correct total number of coins counted, not the dollar amount.

c.)  The message "Ending bank has been adjusted by…" appears.

d.)  Take the receipt for the Removal operation.

8. Take the Receipt for the Removal operation.

9. Perform another operation or exit out of the Service Unit Screen.
