Date range FAQ

Question
Answer

Why should I set a custom date range?

In the car wash business, there is a need to look back over your numbers to find trends and patterns. For example, if you ran more than one marketing campaign throughout the year, you will have the ability to go back and set a specific date range to see the results on sales performance. Or if you changed management at a site, you could compare the labor percentages from before and after the change.

Why should I set a preset date range?

For your reporting convenience, we've included preset date range selections. This allows you to quickly choose common timeframes like "last week" or "last month," saving you time when running multiple reports. Once selected, this default date range will automatically apply to all subsequent reports until you change it.

How do I know what date range I have selected?

The currently selected Default Report Date range is displayed in two convenient locations: the status bar at the bottom right of your screen and at the top of each report.

What happens to the date range if I select a report resolution such as annual, or month?

Certain reports, such as the Shift Detail Report, display daily transaction data where trend analysis isn't the primary goal. However, other reports, like the Vehicle Performance report, are designed for identifying trends over extended periods. For these trend reports, you can utilize the "Resolution" option. This setting works with your selected date range to present the data at a level of detail that makes the most sense for you. For example, after loading six months of data, you can choose to view monthly, weekly, or daily totals.
