Add a POS Profile

Sales Items will not automatically appear in the POS Profile unless configured to do so. (Depends on the Include/Exclude setting.) POS Profiles are used to determine which Sales Items will be available on the Touch POS or Presell retail profiles. Profiles can be displayed on the terminals based on the times configured for the profile's schedule and will automatically adjust the Sales Items that can be sold at the Touch POS or Presell. For example, if Hand Service items are only available until 5 PM, the POS Profile can be configured to automatically remove Hand Service items at that time.

NOTE: The POS Profiles tab is only used to create retail POS Profiles.

  1. On the Configuration menu, select Goods and Services, and then select POS Profiles.

The list of all existing POS Profiles appears.

  1. In the Profile section, click the Add button.
  2. In the Profile box, type the name of the new POS Profile.
  3. In the Device Type box, select Touch POS and/or Presell.
  4. In the Device box, from the Device list, then select one or more devices that apply, and click the OK button.
  5. In the Assignment Mode, select one of the following:
  • Exclude only items I uncheck, as new sales items are created they will be automatically available in this profile.

-or-

  • Include only items I check, as new sales items are created they must be manually added to be available in this profile.
  1. Expand the Assign Sales Item node.

Expand the Sales Items node. Select a Profit Center from the Profit Center drop down menu. All Sales Items are selected by default and Sales Items can be selected and deselected by clicking on the Profit Center or by clicking on individual Sales Items.

  1. When selecting the items that will be on the POS Profile, click the Save button to save the changes to the profit center that you are working on, and this keeps the window open so you can switch to another profit center.
  2. After all changes are made, click the Save and Close button.

The message Profile saved successfully appears.

  1. Next, in order for the Profile to take effect, set a valid schedule and enable the Profile.

NOTE:  Contact ICS technical support if Touch POS profiles should be honored during Free Wash Rewash functions.
